Protect Your Dark Hair Color With Black Tea & Sage powder Rinse

Hair color can fade over time due to environmental exposure to sunlight, or just washing it every day with shampoo and conditioner. One way to protect your hair color is by using herbs to not only enrich it with nutrients but to enhance and revive its natural shine. Black or darker color hair losing its shine can be more visible than lighter hair colors. Not to worry, because natural herbs can help restore its dark color back.

Preparing Your Brew: What you need: You will need a spray bottle, disposable plastic gloves, disposable plastic shower cap, black tea and sage powder. You will need a pot to brew your mix along with water.

Prepare: Start by filling a pot with water about 80% full, now add both the black tea and sage powder. Depending on the tea you are using, you may need to use a good amount to get a strong brew. Make sure to add about a quarter or an equal part of the stage to help make the tea stronger. Using sage contributes to open up the hair shafts and enable the strands to accept better the color that is being added to the hair. Now leave the tea to brew until it is about 4 to 6 ounces left of the water. Strain all leaf or remove all tea bags from the mixture and allow it to cool down to room temperature before adding it to your spray bottle.

Applying: Start applying to hair just like any other commercial hair dye product from the store, start by applying it to your hair and cover all the sections completely. Leave the dye on hair for at least two hours cover with a plastic cap to help trap in heat (if not possible 1 hour is the very least to leave the dye on hair) to make sure the color sets in. Rinse hair out with cool water makes sure not to use shampoo for at least 24 hour periods.

The tea mixture is a natural dye so is safe to use over again to reach you desire color, so use color until your reach your desired shade of color.

Applying The Brew

Start by sectioning the hair into four sections and secure each part with a clip. Dividing the hair into sections will allow you to spray each section and make sure that it is completely covered. Go from one section to the other until your entire head is covered. Now leave the rinse on hair for 45 minutes cover with a plastic cap under the heat cap to help it penetrate the strand. Afterward, let it sit on hair for another 30 minutes to allow the color to set in and your scalp to cool down to room temperature. Now all you do is rinse hair with cool water to remove all other mix and to help close your cuticles.
